Now In Media Player: Live From Albertane

Sep 25, 2020 | HANSON

With the launch of the latest version of Hanson.net we finally have a place where you can listen to nearly every HANSON EP, or album all in one place with ease. Everything from Middle Of Nowhere to Animal Instincts is available at a click of a button, and we are adding more all the time.

We are just a few weeks away from our first Streaming Concert Series of 2020, when we plan to revisit “Live and Electric”, and reflect on how important that album was in 2005. We are reminded that live music and live albums have always been a huge part of how we wanted to share our craft, so we’re starting at the beginning.

Today we added “Live From Albertane” to the Hanson.net Media Player!

“Live from Albertane” was recorded in 1998 on ”The Albertane Tour”, our first national tour, and probably the first place many of you heard us play live. It was more than just another project; it was a statement about HANSON. At a time when many of our musical peers were singers and dancers it was important to us that we were not only known for writing our songs, but that live music was a part of the way people perceived our band. We had seen the impact of iconic Jam bands like the Grateful Dead who built a community of fans dedicated to the live experience and we wanted to begin seeding that live connection from the start of our journey, cutting out our own place as a live band.

We traveled the world during the debut tour but many places outside of the US never saw a full concert, so we set out to capture all we could with a Live album that would stand the test of time, sharing this essential part of our story with music fans from Tulsa to Tokyo. From the first notes of the Live From Albertane album, featuring the relentless beat of “Gimmi Some Lovin” you get a glimpse into the heartbeat of our band with a love for iconic sounds that stand the test of time and a dedication to sharing music from the stage. Since this first tour we have had the incredible joy of sharing live music on thousands of stages, and you have helped make so many of our aspirations a reality, each time you have chosen to join us for a live show. Reflecting on this project 22 years after it was recorded (at 12,15, and 17), it feels like a pretty good place to start that live music journey.

-Peace, Love, and Bulletproof Marshmellows.

Awesome!  I wasn't fortunate enough to see you LIVE until recently, so I cannot wait to listen to this in the media player.  Thank you for being so active with your fans!  I'm off to Shake My Tail Feather!

Thanks @Zac, but I'm pretty sure most of us know the media player like the back of our hand. It's the only place I can listen to past member EPs.  I'm addicted! 😝

I saw it earlier in the media player, but I must have seen it part way through upload because there were only 5 songs, lol. But how exciting!

It wasn't the *first* place I heard you guys play live, but I was at the Key Arena when "Live From Albertane" and parts of The Road to Albertane were recorded. It seems like ages ago now. Good times.

Yay, love it! Brings back memories of watching the video and drumming along with Zac on my mattress :)

Can I just say that I am happy that you have managed to tone down the crowd participation and give it some direction haha. Man, that is aloud crowd. 😅

This was playing constantly on my player ca. 1999 when waiting for your second album, loved hearing the live energy and your voices changing.

It may have been 22 years, but I still get a little tingly when I hear the opening of this album. It instantly takes me back to being in the crowd in '98 and the rush of excitement I felt when that music started and the curtain dropped.

Still one of your best albums. It captures the excitement, movement, passion, and thrill of this time.
