HANSON: IT FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING!!!

Aug 25, 2022 | HANSON

Hello from western Canada! As we move west on the North American tour, everything gets bigger and bigger, especially the drives between shows. 900 hundred miles from Winnipeg to Calgary, 725 from Edmonton to Vancouver, sometimes you forget how big and beautiful the world is, but then you catch sight of the endless horizon of the western plains and it is all put back in perspective. Despite the shows being amazing, this tour has been comedy of errors when it comes to our bus. We have had a generator die, gotten trapped on a sand berm, gotten stuck on the bus when the lock failed, but yesterday topped it all. Yesterday pulling into Edmonton the “second" wheel on the left side of our trailer… meaning the first was already gone! IT FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING!!! Thankfully our driver maneuvered the bus off the highway like a pro, and we have a new trailer that should get us all home safe and sound. You can’t make this stuff up, just laugh and/or cry and get on with the day, there is a show to play.

Yeah, what a week we have been having back in Canada, but the concerts have been great and we are happy to be sharing the stage with friends, The Grand Southern. Don’t forget to check the Hanson.net blog for more updates from the road, and new videos from BTTI 2022!

Glad y'all are safe! This is becoming more and more like a Navy deployment on a ship...faulty equipment, stuff falling apart, being away from from family, eating questionable fruit. Anyway, thank you for your musical service and looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Oh Canada, always an adventure 🤷‍♀️  If it makes you feel any better, I broke my mirror and dented my van while listening to Rambling Heart on the way out of the parking lot due to a post. You’re right, cannot make this stuff up 😆

@Natalie That actually sounds like a nice poem tbh. Or a nice film.

Just insane. I’m so thankful that you guys and your families are safe through all of it. So intense. Just proves how professional you guys can be; going through all that and still show up to the show. It may be on Hanson Time, but there!

Yikes, that brings back some awful memories. A few months ago we ended up hitting a rolling wheel on the freeway that had fallen off a vehicle in front of us. There was no time for my husband to dodge it, and he couldn't veer into another lane because of traffic. It was pretty frightening since we had just picked up our little granddaughter. It messed up our car pretty bad, but it could have been *so* much worse.

I bet you all will laugh about this stuff for years to come...however I'm sure it's hard to laugh in the moment as it's happening :) Hope you have paid your dues now and have much smoother travels as you continue the tour, fingers crossed for you!!

Hahahahahaha @ Natalie

We then taped it back together with duct tape 3 or 4 times throughout the 6 hour drive home. Everything was fine........we got it under control.

Thankful your all ok! Wowsers first thing came to mind was a scene from the Disney classic The Love Bug when they are driving in the great El Dorado race and Buddy Hackets Tennessee character looks over and says” Where that wheel come from?” As a tire was going alongside them.

ah, the chaos of touring I take it haha. I wonder there those wheels rolled to. But being locked on a bus? yikes!

🪶😂📜 I'm so grateful that this comedy of errors hasn't dimmed your spark ❤️‍🔥 and, of course, that you're all now safe and able to laugh about it all.💜🥰 May the rest of your tour be safe and free from any serious incidents 🙏. God bless you and keep you always 💞💕.

Gosh, you guys really had your work cut out for you - at least as far as mechanics/accessories go (still can’t believe those east pieces went too). Nice to see you’re making lemonade though. And hopefully catching a break from the endless summer heat, since you’ve ventured northwest?

PS do you do any sort of vehicular travel checks every, oh let’s say, 1000 miles or so? Might be time to start lol!
